You each need an iPhone with Pear, signed in to your own iCloud account (two different Apple Accounts). Pear keeps what you share in iCloud, so there's no sign-up.

1. Open Pear and tap Invite your Pear. Send the link in Messages, or however you two talk.
2. Your Pear taps the link, downloads Pear for free, and accepts.
3. Together you add your first Moment (you can skip it), pick your Pair Time Zone and name your Pet.

If Pear says you're not signed in, open Settings, tap your name at the top (or Sign in), make sure iCloud is on, then come back. You can be in one Pair at a time.

Check Settings → Notifications → Pear and make sure notifications are allowed. Focus modes and Low Power Mode can hold them back. New Pips travel through iCloud, so both iPhones need to be online; opening Pear always catches up. Moment Reminders come from your own iPhone, even offline.

• Home screen: touch and hold an empty spot, tap Edit → Add Widget, search for Pear, and pick Latest Pip, Pet, Next Moment or Bucket List.
• Lock screen: touch and hold the lock screen, tap Customize → Lock Screen, then tap the widget area and choose Pear.
• Control Center and the Action Button: add the Send a Pip control from Control Center's edit mode, or in Settings → Action Button.

Widgets show the newest Pip, your Pet and your Together Streak even when you're offline. They pause if the free trial ends before Pear is unlocked.

Everything is free for 14 days from the day you pair. After that, sending Pips and the widgets pause until either of you buys the one-time unlock, which unlocks Pear for both of you, forever. Your Pear doesn't need to buy it too. Memories and export are never locked.

Reinstalled, or on a new iPhone? Open the unlock screen in Pear and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so if you ever pair with someone new, it unlocks your new Pair too. For refunds, use Apple's Report a Problem page.

In the Us tab, tap Export Memories to save a zip of every Pip (with its doodle drawn in), every Caption and Reply, your Moments and your Bucket List. Export is always free.

To leave, tap Unpear from your Pear's name and confirm. Your Pear is told, and you both keep read-only Memories for 30 days to look back on and export. After that, Pear deletes them from both iPhones and from iCloud.

New iPhone or reinstall: sign in to the same iCloud account and install Pear. It finds your Pair and downloads your Memories again.

iCloud full: everything you share is stored in the iCloud of the Pear who sent the invite. When that iCloud is full, Pear tells you and new Pips wait to send. Nothing is deleted. Free up some space, or add more, and open Pear: waiting Pips go out on their own.
